24 December 2017
20 Rabi’ul Awwal 1439
It was indeed a meaningful day well-spent on the 24th December 2017 celebrating the Year End Festive Feast in Singapore style with the Yio Chu Kang (YCK) residents. IMSSA`s Central Division partnered with the Yio Chu Kang Zone 3 RC, Al-Muttaqin Mosque, Sian Chay Medical Institution, Health Promotion Board & SATA CommHealth to bring happiness during the festive season to about 250 less-privileged elderly residents.
Can there be a celebration without food? Well, food gives happiness to all. Therefor, our volunteers from IMSSA prepared a scrumptious buffet spread consisting of Ghee Rice, Butter Chicken, Pepper Mutton, Mixed vegetables, Fried Bee Hoon and Porridge. The attendees shared how they loved the food and some of their favourites.
“God bless you. Thank you for the food. Actually, I won an award for Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W)’s birthday celebration in 1975.”

Our youth volunteers also engaged the residents by having fun-filled games such as the Shooting the Cans with water guns, Throwing the ball in a hole, Darts & balloons, Ping Pong & Cups and Henna. Adding on, Dr Koh Poh Koon mentioned in his Facebook post that “Even the children had great fun with the games set up by youth volunteers from IMSSA”.
Immersing the spirit of giving, SATA conduced free functional health screening for the residents who turned up on that day. Not forgetting, Sian Chay Medical Institution also provided free cut for the residents as well. Presents consisting of chocolates and biscuits were sponsored by Rahmatan Lil Aalamin Foundation & Al Muttaqin Mosque for all residents who turned up on that day. Residents were beaming with joy to receive the wrapped presents and also handful of goody bags with Rice, Milo, Oats and other essential household items sponsored by Community Development Welfare Fund from the Yio Chu Kang CC.
It was heart-warming to see our volunteers and residents spending quality time interacting and bonding through active participation in the games, serving the food and during stage performances.
Looking forward to more such meaningful occasions in the near future!
