20 Rabi’ul Awwal 1439
Rabi’ul Awwal; the month during which our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) was born. During this month, it is common to gather as a jammat to recite Maulid. Maulid is about reciting poems that describes our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w). Therefore, to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammed (s.a.w), on 9 December 2017, the IMSSA Girls Team had organized a Maulid Session over at one of beloved Muslimahs’ place in Yishun. This was our only Maulid this year due to various activities and events ongoing during the birthday month of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w), thus we were all looking forward to be a part of this Maulid session.
We began the event by having a scrumptious meal; inclusive of ghee rice, chicken curry, raita and payasam. Along with some cold drinks to kick start the Maulid session.
Soon after, the girls split into two teams to facilitate the recitation of the Baiths. Both the teams began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, and began expressing our appreciation for Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) through the recitation of the Baiths. In between, we had gotten our Secondary girls to recite the short & long Duas that they had trained for, during Madrasah curriculum hours. There was also a few other Baiths that comprises of poems describing Prophet Muhammed (s.a.w); in which we had included solo recitation through the pitching of both high and low melodious tunes which were recited beautifully by two of our very own Ustazahs. Mashaa Allah, it was indeed very pleasing to hear. As a whole, the Jamaat recital of the Maulid turned out to be very exhilarating and a successful completion.
Towards the end of the Maulid, we had a Tamil Dua recited by our one of Usatzahs as well as a closing speech by the fellow members of the hosting family. One of hosts has shared about the importance of the bond that we share and how critical it is when gathering as Jamaath; to spread our love, care and concern for one another. She also highlighted the characteristic of our beloved Prophet Muahmmad (s.a.w), where he was always striving to make the best out of the Jamaath he is in, and he was always spreading positivity and knowledge whenever possible.
At the end of the speech, our hosting Muslimah distributed a small token of appreciation to all those present and expressed her gratitude to all who had graced the event and made it a very meaningful event. It was indeed a warm closure to the event.
InshaAllah, we look forward to organizing more Maulid sessions in the upcoming year. Aameen.
