4 August 2018
22 Zul Kaedah 1439
Since Madrasah As-Soabereen (Eunos) was launched this year, it held its first National Day Observance Ceremony on 4th of August 2018 at Masjid Darul Aman, to commemorate the nation’s 53rd year of independence. Haji Rahim, Chairman of Masjid Darul Aman, together with members of the mosque management board, Kids aLive Madrasah’s students, Ustads and Ustazahs participated in the National Day Observance Ceremony organised by IMSSA East Division.
We, the citizens of Singapore,
pledge ourselves as one united people,
regardless of race, language or religion,
to build a democratic society
(An extract of the Singapore National Pledge)
Regardless of race, language or religion, the participants came together to celebrate National Day as one united people. The National Day Observance Ceremony held at the entrance of the Masjid commenced with the National flag march-in observed by IMSSA boys from NPCC and NCC (Land) cadet corps.
Subsequently, as the flag was gradually raised high while the National Anthem was played, everyone who gathered felt the sense of belonging to Singapore and the sheer happiness on the independence we have gained. And, as every participant uttered the words of the pledge, the need for people of Singapore to stand together, hand-in-hand, to continue working towards Singapore’s growth was slowly internalised.
As a notable number of the participants were no longer in Primary, Secondary or Tertiary Institutes, such observance ceremonies are vital to remind all about the importance of staying as one united people of Singapore.
The National Day Observance Ceremony ended with the cutting of cake for Singapore’s 53rd Birthday by Haji Rahim and Ustad Ali, Director of IMSSA. The children of Madrasah As-Soabereen (Eunos) had their photo-taking sessions with the cake before their classes resumed for the day.
So let us stand together as – One people, One nation, One Singapore.
Happy 53rd Birthday Singapore!
