Madrasah As-Soabereen strives to create a pool of Haafizs who excel not only in their Quran recitation but also in their memorization. The ultimate goal for every Hifz student is to complete memorizing the entire Quran by achieving small goals such as 1 Juz, 3 Juz and 5 Juz memorisation with the guidance of their respective Hifz Ustazahs.
Cultivate values into young Haafizs to enable lifelong learning and memorization of Al-Quran.
♦ Protectors of the Quran
♦ Be a living example of the Quran
♦ Love for Quran
Since the inception of Madrasah As-Soabereen in 2004, memorisation of the Quran, especially 20 surahs from 30th Juz and Surah Yaasin, was common. To bring Hifz to the next level, selected students who had completed both of the above were put together in a Hifz class, under the special care and guidance of Hifz Ustazs and Ustazahs. Subsequently, the Hifz team expanded with a yearly intake of 10 students, of which the senior students became mentors for the younger ones and guided them in their memorization. In 2011, the Hifz team split into 2 teams: Bishan and Yishun, so as to expand the Hifz team in both branches of Madrasah As-Soabereen.
♦ Primary School Levels and Above
Specialised half day Hifz programme for Yaasin, 1 Juz, 3 Juz, 5 Juz, 10 Juz and 30 Juz. Testing of weekly memorisation includes
○ New memorisation
○ Previous week’s new memorisation
○ Old memorisation
With the remaining time allocated for the Hifz Program, Hifz students and their Ustazs and Ustazahs explore and understand important advice from the Quran ayat and Hadith mentioned by Prophet Muhammed (S.A.W). Students are also constantly tested on their tajweed skills and revision of rules done regularly.
♦ Pre-School Levels
Though the students begin learning from the Iqra’ stage through rote learning, students memorise Surahs faster. Students listen to their respective Ustazahs recite Surahs in their respective groups, repeatedly. Once all the students in a particular group remember the Surah taught, the Ustazah advances to the next Surah. However, recapping of previously memorised Surahs are also done weekly. With targets set for each group, the students are motivated to memorise more Surahs.
