26 November 2017
07 Rabi’ul Awwal 1439
26th of November 2017 marked the last day for Madrasah 2017. Surely the IMSSA Juniors wanted it to be a memorable day for our children.
Of the many characters dear to our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w), Liyaafath is one that was constantly encouraged and urged by him. In fact, it is also a character very dear to Allah s.w.t, as he commended Prophet Ibrahim (a.s)’s hospitality in the Quran! To spread Liyaafath and the good spirit of giving – ‘Giving others what you love’, Liyaafath spread was arranged on the 26th of November 2017, at Masjid An-Nahdhah for students and Ustazahs to exchange with one another foods they loved. The session took place during the first half of the day, to emulate Rasullulah’s favourite character of giving food to others.
The theme this year was to “Share what you Love, Spread Liyafath!”
Indeed it was a scrumptious spread that was laid for everyone, where there were main dishes from hand-made mini-burgers, a variety of pastas, lasagne, fried rice to kids all-time favourite of chicken wings, hot dogs and interesting desserts like watermelon sago dish to brownies!
All witnessed the true spirit of Liyaafath and ate heartily but most importantly, gave thanks to Allah (s.w.t) for blessing us with these Rizq. The children surely enjoyed feasting on every of the delights and this could be seen from their grinning faces. The ustazahs too had their hearts full as they served what they cooked to their children.
In the second half of the day, everyone gathered for a “Show and Tell” Session! In this session, both the children and the ustazahs were made to bring an item that reminded them of Rasulullah (s.a.w). This could be even a bag, pen or just a book. They had to talk about the item and share why it reminded of them of the Beloved Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w). For this session, students came prepared with items such as attar (scented perfume), grapes and dates. The best presenters were selected to present during assembly.
Ruki from P6 Girls shared on how food reminded her of the Prophet, as he was someone who constantly reminded us to thank Allah for this blessing and not to waste it no matter what.
Zaafirah and Aneesah shared how rubbish reminded them of Rasulullah, as he was someone who constantly picks up the rubbish that he saw on the floor, and this too had motivated the girls to care for the environment that they live in.
Alhamdulillah, the Show and Tell session was indeed a meaningful one as the children shared how simply they could be reminded of Rasulullah (s.a.w). It was heartening to listen to each and every one of the sharing and reminded us that our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) is indeed the best example to follow!
This was a good session for the students to relate to the many hadiths they have learnt about the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) and was indeed pleasing to see how much love and respect they had for him.
Insha Allah, that wrapped the Madrasah Year for us and we are extremely delighted to have been part of this journey of seeking and teaching the Deen of Allah. May Allah bless everyone who has treaded in the Path of Knowledge for Him and give them bountiful strength to continue their efforts.
