20 Rabi’ul Awwal 1439
As part of the Kindness Project organised by the Yishun Boys Hub (YBH), a Food Distribution at Marsiling was held on Saturday, 24th December 2017. The food was prepared and packed at Masjid Darul Makmur before being sent for distribution. In collaboration with Marsiling Zone 6 RC, the food was distributed to the needy families of Marsiling at the RC Centre located at Blk 310, Woodlands Street 31.
A total of 1000 packets of meals were cooked to be distributed to four areas, namely Chong Pang, Ang Mo Kio, Macpherson and Marsiling. The menu for Marsiling needy residents comprised of Ghee Rice, Pepper Mutton, Butter Chicken and Porridge. The cooking started off in the early morning and volunteers helped to pack the cooked food thereafter.
The packing was coordinated by Mdm Halima Fouziya and Mr Azhar. It was positive to see students, Ameers and Ustaz alike come together and be a part of this event. Mr Sulthan, together with Mr Azhar, grouped the volunteers to pack different dishes concurrently. A total of 200 packets were packed for the residents of Marsiling.
The food was then transported to the RC Centre at noon, before being distributed an hour later. It was indeed heart-warming to see smiles on the residents’ face as they collected the food. The residents and the RC were thankful for the contribution. A photo-taking session concluded the beneficial and valuable event as everyone returned home happy, contented and with a packet of the sumptuous food.
The event aided in emphasizing IMSSA’s model of “Gather, Learn, Serve”, and acted as a reminder of the abundance of sustenance that we have been blessed with.
