SalamSG Movement Launch Volunteering

On 12th March 2023, we were invited to join the “SalamSG Movement Launch” that took place at Masjid Khalid during the month of Ramadan. Alhamdulillah! The objective of the event was to welcome Ramadan by sharing goodies to people in the neighborhood. A total of 19 volunteers got involved in this heartwarming giving of goodies.
Our volunteers gathered at Masjid Khalid and were split into groups. Each group was assigned to a certain number of goodies to be distributed. All of us walked to Paya Lebar and started to give out the goodies to our fellow brothers and sisters that we came across. Each bag contained essentials that can be used in the month of Ramadan. We felt contented after seeing some big and bright smiles. That was a great way to spread happiness.
ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَٰلَهُم بِٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ سِرًّۭا وَعَلَانِيَةًۭ فَلَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
Those who spend their wealth [in Allāh’s way] by night and by day, secretly and publicly – they will have their reward with their Lord. And no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve. (Surah Al-Baqarah: 274)
