The Yishun Boys Hub (YBH) team organized for an exciting annual day this year, which was held on the 28th October 2018 at Masjid Darul Makmur.

Annual day has been traditionally a day to commemorate the success of our young imams and to motivate the other students to push beyond the norms. On the contrary, this year’s Annual day was different; not just to the parents, but to the organizing committee too. It was the first time that the YBH cooked together as a team for 300 esteemed guests for the event. Though the annual day was themed, “A Celebration of Boys Achievements”, the YBH team intended to gather everyone on the day of annual day to be thankful for the Jamaath that has been forged with Allah’s grace, by doing many good deeds through Madrasah As-Soabereen.

Annual day fundamentally aims to appreciate growing talents for their all-year round performance; enabling students and Ameers (class leaders) to make their parents proud. Alongside, by commemorating the success of Madrasah As-Soabereen via recalling the milestones surpassed thus far, new members to the IMSSA families are better able to appreciate the opportunities that IMSSA has created for all. Thus, the emcees for the day briefly explained to the audience about the history of IMSSA and YBH by recalling milestones surpassed so far.

The event started proper with a Qirath recitation by our Young Qari, Abdul Rafeeq, from Primary 4 and Primary 5 class. He read the verses 45-55 from Surah Al Furqan.

The audience were later quizzed on their favourite or most relatable verse from the recitation to gauge the extent of impact the Quran verses had in some of the individuals.

Prophet Muhammed (S.A.W) said, “The one who is proficient in the recitation of the Quran will be with the honourable scribes (the Angels) and
he who recites the Quran and finds it difficult to recite, doing his best to
recite it in the best way possible, will have a double reward.”

Hadith Sahih Al-Bukhari and Muslim

The Prize Presentation Ceremony commenced with Quran category, whereby students received awards for progressing from Iqra’ to to Quran. Students were also awarded for reaching the certain milestones in Quran memorization, so as to encourage them and others to memorise more. It’s certainly not easy to memorize and maintain in our memory, nonetheless, it is a great deed in the sight of Allah.

Prophet Muhammed (S.A.W) said,
“Keep on reciting the Quran, for, by Him in Whose Hand my life is,
Quran runs away (is forgotten) faster than camels that are released from their tying routes.”

Hadith Sahih Al-Bukhari

Seerah is taught in Madrasah to learn about Prophets and to link lessons learnt with our lives. The students who had grasped this knowledge well were also awarded during the Prize Presentation Ceremony.

The first section was concluded with a break-time for Asar prayers and for a feast specially prepared by the YBH team. They served food wholeheartedly, to all the Ustazahs, students and parents for their ultimate support given thus far.

The event resumed with a skit by our Primary 6 and Secodary 1 boys, titled “The Key to Success” that served as a reminder to all, the essence of success.

After which, the Prize Presentation Ceremony resumed by recognizing students who have excelled in Fiqh.  Class awards were also given to students with significant progress in character and attitude towards Madrasah (Good Progress Award) and those who have been exemplary to others in their conduct and mannerism (Good Conduct Award). Ameers who went to the extra mile for their students and madrasah were also recognised through Ameer of the Year Award.

YBH did not forget their Ustads. The Ustads who took up the role as the Head Of Department (HOD) for Quran/Hadith department, Seerah department and Fiqh department were recognized for their contributions for the past 2 years.

YBH team’s beloved Ustazah Halimah Fouziya, who’s the Head, was not forgotten as well. She has been a pillar of support for the YBH team, as her charismatic speech encourages each individual to go beyond one’s self-drawn limits. Alhamdullilah.

The Annual day organizing committee was also recognized for their contributions and efforts day to make that day, a success (Bi’ithnillah).

The finale of the even was an ear-teasing Nasheed performance by our Secondary 2 and 3 boys. They mesmerised the audience with the nasheed, “Ya Badratim”!

The event concluded with Ustaz Ibrahim’s speech to thank the parents for coming down to support their students and appreciating the efforts of all those who contributed to make the unique celebration a great success.
