25 Syawal 1440H
Eid Gathering 2019 was held on 29th June 2019, to celebrate Eid with our east IMSSA family! The aim of this year’s Eid gathering was to forge stronger ties with the kids and their families while reflecting upon the Khutbah Aidilfitri – The Unifying Spirit of Ramadan.
A four and a half long event included delicious Dum Briyani, an exciting array of sharings, best dressed and best cookie contests, baith performances, Eid Kutbah Skits!
The event began with a melodious Qirath recital of Surah Al-Fajr by our very own K2 student. Following that, we had a spectacular baith performance – “Ya Rahman’ by the lower primary girls while the lower primary boys engaged the audience with a skit on the Eid Khutbah. Our preschool students captivated the audience with their Takbir performance.
The yearly best-dressed contest was conducted where two kids from each class were awarded attractive hampers! This was introduced for students to display their Eid dresses to their friends as well as to instill the Islamic moral values like to cover their awrath while donning their traditional wear. It is through these minute actions when composed together will lead us to how we portray ourselves to be exemplary Muslims to others. As said, putting up a best, first impression matters!
The upper primary to tertiary students gave an enlightening speech on Eid Khutbah. They also participated in the best cookie contest, where they displayed their culinary skills to bake raya cookies and presented to the audience! The judges were impressed and had a hard time deciding the winners as all the cookies were mouthwatering and tasty.
Our very own ustazahs prepared a very appetizing meal in Masjid Darul Aman that consisted of Dum Chicken Biryani; Raita; Dalcha and Dates Pachadi! We also extended our Eid Celebrations to 150 kids in Pertapis Childrens’ Home by delivering the scrumptious meal to them. Other savouries, desserts like raya cookies and ice cream were served. After the scrumptious feast, everyone headed for their Asar prayers.
The second segment of the event began with a Qasidah performance by the upper level boys. Subsequently, to hype up the parents, there was a Eid Quiz and “Eid around the world’ video. Our distinguished Hazrath gave a succinct speech to summarize the Ramadan Iftars, Eid Celebration and importance of parents support in nurturing kids to serve the community.
Towards the end of the event, parents, ustazahs and the kids were invited to take pictures at the photo booth corner! The children returned home with a wide smile holding their goodie bags and hampers!
Alhamdulillah, we ended Syawal by celebrating the joyous occasion together with the Madrasah As-Soabereen Family!
