Eid Gathering cum Parent Ustazah Meeting was held on 30th June 2019 for the Lower Primary and Pre-School children at Madrasah As-Soabereen (Bishan). The event aimed to update the progress of the children’s status and progress for the first half of the month and to celebrate the blessed day together by building a stronger relationship with the kids and families.
The event commenced with Parent-Ustazah meeting that allowed valuable exchange of information pertaining to the respective students. Ustazah Aneesa welcomed the parents and updated them regarding the events that have happened in Madrasah As-Soabereen (Bishan) for the first half of the year. Several interesting tips about how parents can facilitate at home and the importance of teaching the children consistently were also shared and reinforced. Then, the parents met their child’s respective Ustazah for child-specific updates.
Thereafter, they were greeted with an array of food such as ghee rice, fried chicken and savouries such as Raya cookies, brownies and cheese cake. The children were also treated to candy floss and popcorn that our very own ustazahs were preparing, according to the requests. To capture the joyous occasion with the children dressed in colourful Eid clothes, a photo booth was set up. The children were exhilarated to take pictures with their friends and family, while being in their best Eid attire. After the scrumptious meal, everyone headed for their Asar prayer.
After the break, the second half of the event began with an amazing nasheed performance by the kindergarten children named, ‘’Allah Created Everything’’. Following that, the contestants for the “Best Eid Photo” won prizes for the beautiful pictures that were sent prior to the event. The aim of the photo contest was to encourage the children to cover their awrath while donning their traditional wear and to build a stronger bond between their families. There was also a contest for “Best Eid-Dressed Class”’ whereby 3 classes won hampers. These hampers were shared among the children of the respective classes. To keep the parents engaged throughout the event, several Islamic quizzes where also conducted that the parents actively took part in. The event was concluded by a Primary 2 boy’s Eid Takbeer and Hazrath’s speech. He summarised the event and reinforced the importance of parents’ support in the development of the children’s progress.
