FINALE IFTAR CUM WELCOME RAYA

IMSSA’s Finale Iftar cum Welcome Raya at An-Nahdhah mosque was held on 21st April 2023 from 6pm to 8.45pm. This marked the final Iftar to end off Ramadan and kickstart the festive joy of Hari Raya Puasa, especially with underprivileged families and children. Together with 1000 attendees from all walks of lives, the event was graced by our honorable President of Singapore, Mdm Halimah Yacob and Member of Parliment, Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC Grassroot adviser Mr Saktiandi Supaat.
The key features of this Finale Iftar include the distribution of green packets (Duit Raya) to children and festive hampers to underprivileged families. The families thereafter joined the Iftar and Raya Takbir recitation. Through these efforts, we hope to serve the community and spread the blessings of the festive season with all.
It was heartening to see children and families from different walks of life coming together to share a meal. The iftar (break of fast food) menu of the day consisted of Mutton flavoured Briyani, Chilli Chicken, Dalcha, Brinjal Pachidi, Fruit Tart, Cream Puff, Curry Puff, Grapes, Dates, Porridge, Ajmal Mineral Water, and Pokka Drinks.
In IMSSA, we organize and execute community events and programmes to engage youths in meaningful service to the community and nation, specifically in reaching out to the needy, elderly and promoting racial and religious harmony through various activities.
One of IMSSA’s signature events is the Harmony Iftars which aims to engage all age groups to serve the community, especially the underprivileged families, elderly, and young children. With the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions this year, IMSSA has resumed its signature Harmony Iftars, and has reached out to residents especially those from underprivileged families across Singapore. This year IMSSA held 8 Iftars across Singapore:
- Paya Lebar Buka Puasa 2023 @ Kovan Hub (served up to 2000 pax)
- IMSSA Harmony Iftar @ Masjid An-Nahdhah (served up to 1700 pax)
- Iftar Utara @ Marsiling Mega Sports Park (served up to 3000 pax)
- Migrant Workers Break of Fast @ Chong Pang Hard Court (served up to 1000 pax) – Our newest initiative to distribute food to Foreign Migrant Workers.
- Harmony Break Fast @ Nee Soon GRC, Yishun Ring Road Hardcourt (served up to 2000 pax)
- Breaking Fast in Harmony @ Wisma Geylang Serai (served up to 2000 pax)
- Iftar @ Masjid Assyakirin (served up to 2300 pax)
- Finale Iftar cum Welcome Raya @ Masjid An-Nahdhah with President Halimah Yacob (served up to 1000 pax)
