14 Sha’ban 1439
A few hours prior to Nisfu Sha’ban that fell on the evening of 29 April 2018, Madrasah As-Soabereen (Bishan) Parent’s Team organised for a day filled with activities to enable all to re-charge their souls for Nisfu Sha’ban and Ramadhan. The event was held between 2.00pm to 6.30pm at Masjid An-Nahdhah and was specially arranged for the Mothers. Mothers generally face more challenges in balancing their priorities. Therefore, the objective of the event was to equip them with several essential tips to maximise the benefits that they can achieve in the blessed month of Ramadhan.
The program incorporated a special bayaan session by Hazrath, Ustad Ali, prior to the commencement of Tasbih Nafeel Prayers, also known as Prayer of Glorification. The optional prayer consists of 4 units of prayers that Muslims pray to seek forgiveness from Allah, whilst glorifying Him.
“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to ‘Abbas bin ‘Abdul-Muttalib: ‘O ‘Abbas, O my uncle, shall I not give you a gift, shall I not give you something, shall I not tell you of something which, if you do it, will expiate for ten types of sins? If you do them, Allah will forgive you your sins, the first and the last of them, the old and the new, the unintentional and the deliberate, the minor and the major, the secret and the open, ten types of sin. Pray four Rak’ah, and recite in each Rak’ah the Opening of the Book (Al-Fatihah) and a Surah…”
Hadith Sunan Ibn Majah, #1387
The second segment of the day kick-started with the reminder that there were 15 days to the blessed month of Ramadhan and was followed by a sharing session titled, ‘Getting Prepared for Ramadhan’. Ustazah Shareefa shared with the attendees about the food items to avoid, such as rice, which does not provide sufficient energy to last through the day. Thus, she recommended a number of food substitutes that are generally high in energy, including oats. The session that was co-organised with the IMSSA Health Department aimed to increase the awareness of consuming nutritious meal amongst the Mothers, who generally prepare food for the family.
With about 80 attendees, the programme was well received by the parents. Majority of the attendees feedbacked that they look forward to more of such programs.
Be part of our 4 Iftar preparations during the blessed month of Ramadhan to gain more benefits together, insha Allah.
