Launching Ceremony Of Madrasah As-Soabereen (Eunos)

30 December 2017
26 Rabi’ul Awwal 1439

With the blessings and grace of Allah (S.W.T.),  on 30th December 2017, IMSSA held its launching ceremony for its Madrasah’s third branch; Madrasah As-Soabereen (Eunos) at Masjid Darul Aman! IMSSA officially started its first Madrasah at Masjid Darul Makmur, Madrasah As-Soabereen (Yishun), in 2004 with the aim of offering holistic Islamic Education for its members.

Over the years, with globalisation and the rapid changes seen amongst the younger generations, IMSSA identified a need to teak its Madrasah’s curriculum, to create the idea of I’tikaaf (an Islamic practice consisting of a period of staying in a Masjid), more appealing. There was a need to help the younger generations to forge friendships with those who will eventually give back to the society by doing good. This change progressively took place when IMSSA extended it’s arm with a second branch, Madrasah As-Soabereen (Bishan), at Masjid An-Nahdhah to conduct Madrasah classes; for those in the East and Central.

Alhamdulilah! After 14 years since official commencement, IMSSA is blessed with an opportunity to better enforce its vision – Gather, Learn and Serve the communities in Singapore. This third branch that aims to cater more to the residents at East has been established with Arabic curriculum as its niche.

The launching ceremony of the Eunos branch at Masjid Darul Aman was kindly graced by Masjid Darul Aman’s Chairman, Haji Rahim, IMSSA’s Exco members and special guests. The ceremony saw a total attendance of more than 50 individuals.

With a short introductory welcome speech by Ms. Halimah Fouziya, Vice Chairman of IMSSA, the event kickstarted. In her speech, she stressed on the growth of IMSSA since its launch. Thereafter, IMSSA’s Director, Ustaz Ali, gave a zestful speech, illustrating how far IMSSA has come, noting the important figures who had built the backbone of IMSSA. He emphasized on how the opening of the third branch of Madrasah As-Soabereen, was a will of Allah (S.W.T), which everyone should work together to keep alive. He also stressed the need for everyone to work hand-in-hand with endurance and patience; so as to enable Madrasah As-Soabereen at Masjid Darul Aman to be established with a firm footing.

IMSSA’s growth was translated into a video that was later screened to the room filled with people, who have been contributing towards IMSSA’s and Madrasah As-Soabereen’s growth. As the video depicted the various events, beginning from the opening of Masjid Darul Makmur (Yishun), yearly Iftar events of different dynamics, the opening of Masjid An-Nahdhah (Bishan), selected hallmarks such as the receiving of Prime Minister Lee Hsein Loong, up till the current opening of Masjid Darul Aman; the room became slightly emotional and reminiscent. It was indeed a humbling moment for everyone to realise the gradual workings of the Almighty in showering His guidance and grace to IMSSA against many turbulent moments.

After the video was shown, the moment that everyone was waiting for, the formal launch occurred. Ustaz Ali warmly and kindly gifted Masjid Darul Aman’s Chairman, Haji Rahim, with a crystal plaque to mark IMSSA’s humbled relationship with Masjid Darul Aman. It is hoped that this relationship would forever lead to Barakah, by the name of Allah (S.W.T.), the Most Merciful and the Most Gracious.

Any IMSSA event is not complete without a meal served. Likewise, all the attendees were treated to a sumptuous meal, gearing up all for the new beginning that is to be unfolded.
