National Day 2021

7 August 2021

28 Zulhijjah 1442

Madrasah As-Soabereen (Eunos) commemorated Singapore’s 56th year of independence virtually on 7th of August 2021. On that special day, the madrasah’s curriculum was filled with interesting activities and videos to further strengthen one’s sense of love and belonging towards Singapore. Each class had their own unique range of activities prepared for their students. Mashallah!

In a particular activity conducted over Zoom, the students had made their own Singapore flag! It was beautiful to see their collage of work done. The objective was for them to recall the special meaning behind each element on the flag such as the five stars that depict Singapore’s ideals of democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality. Alhamdulillah! We hope that the children are reminded of the positive values that Singapore stands by.

In another Zoom session, the students had tracked Singapore’s progress over the years and witnessed the big transformations! The Ustads, Ustazahs and students felt proud to be a part of Singapore. Subsequently, they took time to pen down what they were grateful for. As part of closure, an interactive session on what they aspired to be occurred. This self-reflection allowed them to ponder about the importance of doing one’s part as citizens and residents of Singapore.

We hope the celebrations reinforced National Day 2021’s theme, “Together, Our Singapore Spirit”. Indeed, when we are united as one, we can achieve more and have a better future ahead.

Happy 56th Birthday Singapore!

And let there be [arising] from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful.
