The atrium at Masjid An Nahdah was abuzz with activity and excitement on Sunday evening, 07/08/16 which was rather unusual for a normal madrasah day. So what was all the hype about?
Yes indeed, our Bishan madrasah was celebrating Singapore’s 51st birthday in its own unique way. Students gathered to sing National day songs with pride and patriotism. The children enjoyed singing this year’s theme song ‘Tomorrow’s Here Today’ with great enthusiasm. Other activities included guessing the lyrics of different national day theme songs from the past. Besides the sing along session, the children also had a chance to unleash their creativity by participating in the “Make your own national day card” activity in their respective classes. Then, our Madrasah gathered as one to sing our national anthem and take the national pledge together. The highlight of the celebrations was the cutting of a birthday cake for Singapore, which was shared among the students and ustazahs. We wish Singapore, a very Happy Birthday!
