To celebrate and welcome the arrival of the much-anticipated month of Ramadan, Madrasah As-Soabereen held a small gathering at Masjid An-Nahdhah (Bishan) on the 28th of March 2021 from 9.30am to 11.00am. As the first physical gathering in months since the outbreak of Covid-19, many volunteers from the three different branches of Madrasah As-Soabereen attended the event, totaling 150. With the pandemic still being a very real and present situation, the maximum capacity was limited to 150 attendees, who had to adhere to strict safety measures in place.
The event started with a welcome address by Ms Aneesa. Following that, Mr Mohd Jeffrey Low, Chairman of Masjid An-Nahdhah, took the stage with a short speech.
The weeks leading up to the event passed expectedly quickly, with volunteers constantly reminding and encouraging students to beautify their homes with the recitation of the Qur’an. By the day of the event, a total of 100 Qu’rans had been completed by volunteers and students, with the support of their family and friends, who involved themselves in completing their Qur’an recitation. Alhamdhulillah, regardless of the numbers, the intent of encouraging families to gather and bond through the recitation of the Qur’an was well met.
Our distinguished Hazrath then started the Majlis Khatam Al-Qur’an with Surah Al-Fatihah. The following also followed, read as a Jama’ath:
The event came to a close with Dua Kaffarah. Each of our respected guests took their leave with a delicious food package and a gift bag.
Alhamdhulilah, it was a grateful experience to be able to gather, recite the Qur’an and receive timely reminders, in a safe manner due to the global pandemic. Inshallah, let us continue this deed, with proper intentions, in the years to come.
