team. Our Bukit

Panjang Iftar was held at the Hardcourt located near Block 214, Petir Road on Sunday, 28th

June 2015.

This year was the first year we joined hands with JUST PARENTING, WAHA and ADAM. It was a

wonderful experience working with them. This event was supported by the Bukit Panjang

Community Centre.

Assoc Prof Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim (Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Health & Ministry

of Transport) graced the occasion. He highlighted that there should be more of events like this

to strengthen the bond amongst fellow Singaporeans.

Upon the arrival of the GOH, we had Nasheed performances and Qirath Recitation by the little

ones as well as a welcome speech by IMSSA and JUST PARENTING organization. To celebrate

SG50 through our Iftar our volunteers were all dressed in the theme of red, and there was a

commencement of the National Anthem and Pledge to show our devoted love and patriotism

for our country.

In line with IMSSA’s motto, “Gather, Learn and Serve”, this Iftar served as a great platform to

gather friends, family and neighbours to break fast together regardless of race and religion.

Warmly welcoming every attendee and being hospitable towards them is what we’ve been

putting to practice. Indeed, this is the objective of our Iftar.

We had an overwhelming turnout of 1500 participants. Also, 150 needy families received NTUC

vouchers, goodie bags and rations keeping in mind the spirit of giving especially in the holy

month of Ramadan.

The Iftar menu for the day was Kothu Prata, Blueberry Cheese Tart, Cucur, Dates, Kueh, Masala

Chickpeas, Fruit Punch, Watermelon and Mineral Water. As for the Sahur food, we had Cumin

Rice, Chicken Sambal and Dhalcha. Both the Iftar and Sahur food were cooked, prepared,

packed and served by our very own IMSSA volunteers. Children were given goodie bags and

Kids’ Meal to break fast.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to the organizing team,

supporters, sponsors, volunteers and attendees for joining us and making this Iftar a success. In

Shaa’ Allah, may the Iftars in the coming years be successful too. Aameen!
