Alhamdulillah, at the East division in Masjid Kassim, we held our annual Rabiulawal Hadith Competitions for all ages on October 15 2023. In this blessed month of our Prophet Muhammad (SAW), we hope to remember his wisdom and narrate forward his words to others in efforts to follow his sunnah in our day-to-day lives.
Our Muallimah team hosted their own friendly hadith challenge from 9.30am to 1pm on this following theme: “How are the words and/or actions of our Beloved S.A.W. still relevant today, in 2023?”. It is a vital question to reflect upon as we draw his life lessons as everlasting treasures for us to honor, uphold and follow.
A total of 8 participants joined this challenge. Each chose a hadith close to their hearts and beautifully conveyed the words of our Beloved S.A.W., reminding us how relevant and helpful it is in our present time. Indeed by sharing it with others, they learn to internalize the Prophet’s advice and follow it in their own lives. The event concluded with a heartfelt Nasheed performance and prize-giving presentation.
Alhamdullilah, in the afternoon, we extended the spirit of celebration with the Rabiulawal Students’ Competition, held from 2pm to 6pm. This special event, thoughtfully organized by the East branch of Madrasah As-Soabereen, welcomed students from Preschool to Parents’
There were three categories available for the participants: Storytelling, Memento and Raawi challenge. For each level, two categories were presented for the participants to choose from. For the final round, five finalists emerged from every level. These finalists dedicated time and effort to prepare their scripts and props, enriching their sharing. It was also a valuable opportunity for them to step out of their comfort zones and share in front of their peers.
After much competition within their levels, this remarkable day ended of with the eagerly anticipated, prize-giving ceremony which was held in the prayer hall.
Alhamdulillah, we sincerely hope that everyone who attended had a rewarding experience, deepening their understanding of the words and actions of our Beloved S.A.W. and the significance of incorporating them into our daily lives.
لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِىْ رَسُوْلِ اللّٰهِ اُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ لِّمَنْ كَانَ يَرْجُوا اللّٰهَ وَالْيَوْمَ الْاٰخِرَ وَذَكَرَ اللّٰهَ كَثِيْرًا ؕ
There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and [who] remembers Allah often.
[Surah Al-Ahzab : ayat 21]
Insha Allah, let us forever engrave the sunnahs of our Prophet in our hearts and practice them faithfully in our daily lives.
