21 June 2020
29 Syawal 1441 H
Alhamdulillah on the 21st of June, we observed the Solar Eclipse. The main objective of this event was to spread awareness and share the knowledge of what we can do during the time of eclipse.
Since the eclipse was observed on Madrasah classes on Sunday at both Yishun and Bishan branches, held their very own breakout sessions during Madrasah time to learn more about eclipse!
The students learnt about solar eclipse in different ways, according to their level:
◼ The Preschoolers were taught through pictures
◼ The Lower Primary students watched scientific videos on eclipse and were given simplified explanations.
◼ The Upper primary to Tertiary levels were taught through physics that they had learnt in school and then it was extended by finding for quran ayats related to sun and moon.
At about 2.45pm, all of them tuned in to IMSSA Media’s Youtube Channel, where a special programme for Solar Eclipse was telecasted live.
This programme was catered to the masses at large where Hazrath gave a sharing about Eclipse followed by a quran reading. Ustads, Ustazahs and the students learnt how to pray to eclipse prayer and then performed the prayers at their homes.
As our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) said,
Indeed it was an enlightening session as many of us learnt about the significance and the steps to the special prayer.
As Allah (s.w.t) mentions:
اِنْ يَّسْــٴَـــلْكُمُوْهَا فَيُحْفِكُمْ تَبْخَلُوْا وَيُخْرِجْ اَضْغَانَكُمْ
Among His signs are the day and the night, the sun and the moon. Do not prostrate to the sun or the moon, but prostrate to Allah, Who created them ˹all˺, if you ˹truly˺ worship Him ˹alone˺.
Surah Al Fussilat Ayah 37
The observation of Solar Eclipse indeed served as a time for all to greatly remember the magnitude of Allah and His many Blessings upon us. Insha Allah, let us be amongst those who constantly remember Him and give thanks to Him at all times.
