Study-cum-Handicraft Sessions

18-19, 21-22 March 2019
11-12, 14-15 Rejab 1440H

To enable the Upper Primary to Tertiary Girls at Madrasah As-Soabereen (Bishan) to spend their time meaningfully during their March Holidays, their Ustazahs organized for a series of study-cum-handicraft sessions.

These sessions were conducted at Masjid An-Nahdhah. Not only did the children help one another academically, they also learnt effective study skills and examination tips from each other and their Ustazahs.

About 30 girls joined these sessions at Masjid An-Nahdhah. They had a blessed opportunity to come to the masjid and study. This indeed showed them how conducive an environment, Allah’s house can be for them to learn and study.

Alhamdulilah, in this age of time and technology, the girls had learnt that it was still possible to study without being distracted easily with their smartphones or televisions when put in the right environment and companionship, Baarakallah.

The girls brought their homework and as well as their revision materials for them to do self-study. They seized this great opportunity to seek clarifications and doubts that they had with their studies. Many of them were very motivated and driven to finish their work on time and have a play break at level 4 before they went for their Asr prayers. The girls played games like Water molecules, Hunter, Fire and Earthquake and bonded with one another across the varied levels.

Besides studying, the girls also had a blessed chance to pray together as a jemaath and share their meals together with their friends. Coming to the highlight of the study session, each of the study session ended off with a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) tea-break or handicraft session! The girls had their own first-hand experience of making brownies from scratch, parfait dessert with fruits and toppings, cheese mushroom sandwiches and their very own DIY pencil case pouches!

Alhamdulillah, all in all, the girls had learnt how to take great care of themselves, one another and the mosque. They had also practised the values of give others with a wide smile and receiving without expectations.
Tabarakallah, In Sha Allah, the girls are looking forward for more study sessions in the mosque In Shaa Allah.

“The mosques of Allah shall be visited and maintained by such as believe in Allah and the Last Day, establish regular prayers, and practise regular charity, and fear none (at all) except Allah. It is they who are expected to be on true guidance.” “.
