Tilaawatul Quran 2019: Students Challenge

6 October 2019
6 Safar 1440H

Tilaawatul Quran 2019 Students Challenge took place for Madrasah As-Soabereen Bishan Branch children at Masjid An-Nahdhah on 6th Oct 2019.

Alhamdulillah, this was a much anticipated event. The children had their own internal auditions before emerging as participants for the Competition. Competition was tough even to get through the auditions round as most participants did exceptionally well.

The students who participated were well equipped in their Tajweed rules during their recitation and were able to spot on and identify the rules on an unseen script. This would not have been possible without the weekly training over the past one year.

  • 1. Nursery Category
  • 2. Kindergarten Category : K1 & K2
  • 3. Lower Primary Category : P1 – P4
  • 4. Advanced Lower Primary Category : P1 – P4 Hifz
  • 5. Upper Primary Category : P5 – P6
  • 6. Advanced Upper Primary Category: P5 – P6 Hifz
  • 7. Secondary Category: Sec 1 – Sec 4

This year, an additional challenge was added for the participants. Participants who took part in the Advanced Primary Category, had 2 sets of recitation. One is to recite their prepared script and another unseen script was to be recited spontaneously. Participants had to recite the script fluently with tajweed rules and tarannum. Students as young as 8 years old took up this challenge and Masha Allah, most of them gave the judges a tough challenge in deciding the winner.

Alhamdulillah, over the years, students have shown vast improvement in their ability to recite the Quran in different styles and applying tajweed rules with confidence in front of the audience. This competition is a great platform for even the youngest child to build his/her confidence.

We also had a moderator who gave insights to the meaning of the Quranic verses recited and explained the tajweed rules that the participants were expected to apply in their spontaneous round.

Alhamdulillah, truly the most deserving participant won the prizes with the help of Allah (S.W.T). All participants are winners regardless of the prizes they won as they have spent their time in the path of Allah to seek his acceptance and blessings through the recitation of the Quran.

Furthermore, the parents of these participants have played a vital role in their progress, without which such achievements could not have been possible. In sha Allah, we are looking forward to grooming more young talents in the upcoming years.

In sha Allah, let’s continue to play a part in beautifying Allah (S.W.T)’s words, pondering over them and applying its advice in our daily lives. Ameen.
