Tilaawatul Quran 2019: Ustazahs Challenge

17 August 2019
15 Dhul Hajj 1440H

Tilaawatul Quran 2019, Ustazahs-Cum-Coaches Challenge took place on 17th August 2019 (Saturday) at Masjid Darul Aman from 9am to 1pm. This event was organized by IMSSA Tilaawatul Quran (Girls Team). Alhamdulillah, it was well received with a total turnout out of 100 people, who attended this year’s competition. Many Ustazahs came forward to use this platform to stretch their potential in Quran recitation with tarannum and tajweed.

Apart from establishing a platform for ustazahs to recite the Quran with proper Pronounciation, Tajweed and Tarannum, this year, the team also had several other objectives; (i) increase the competitiveness amongst Ustazahs by allowing more ustazahs to participate across different madrasah branches, (ii) encourage coaches to take ownership of training their Ustazahs, and (iii) remind Ustazahs to be responsible for their children and to bring the Quran closer to the students by constantly engaging them with the practice of reciting the Quran melodiously in the long term for the sake of Allah (S.W.T).

The theme for this year was based on the following hadith:

كُلُّكُمْ رَاعٍ وَكُلُّكُمْ مَسْءُوْلٌ عَنْ رَعِيَّتِهِ

Surely! Every one of you is a guardian and is responsible for his charges.

Hadith, Sahih Bukhari

In line with the theme, there were 6 coaches who were selected to train and they willingly took up the responsibility of training the participants.

There were a total of 17 mentors who participated in this Competition. The participants were divided into 3 categories: Mujawwad, Murattal cum Spontaneous, and Qariah

After each participant’s recitation, we had moderators, who explained about the Quran verses. For instance, Surah Mulk was read 4 times by different participants and the moderators shared 4 different perspective of the surah as well. One of it was about Allah (S.W.T)’s creations and how those signs should serve as a constant reminder.

The audience really enjoyed and benefitted from the sharing of the Quran verses’ meaning and several Tajweed rules that the spontaneous recitation scripts had.

Alhamdulillah, we would like to extend our most sincere gratitude to all the coaches who have mentored the participants and supported them in their development towards Quran recitations. Also, we would like to thank the judges, moderators and every individual who had taken their time off to come and support the Ustazahs during the event, Jazakallah Khairan.

In Sha Allah, let us work hand in hand to groom
our future generations to be Qaris and Qariahs
who recite the Quran in a melodious manner for the sake of Allah (swt) and apply it in their lives.
