Words of My Beloved – Ustazahs Hadith Challenge 2022

Alhamdulillah, Words of My Beloved – Ustazahs Hadith Challenge took place on the 16th October 2022 at Masjid An-Nahdhah (MPH) from 9am to 1pm. This competition was specially organized for the Muallimah team of Madrasah As-Soabereen’s Bishan branch.

The objectives of this challenge were to:

  • Inspire the remembrance of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) through sharing his hadith
  • Apply life lessons taught by our Prophet Muhammd (s.a.w) into our daily lives.
  • Hone the skills of public speaking.
  • Accustom oneself to speaking in Arabic confidently.

Alhamdulillah, there were 9 finalists selected for this final rounds, and the competition kickstarted with selewat upon our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) and the welcome address.

بَلِّغُوا عَنِّي وَلَوْ آيَةً

Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) said, “Convey from me ﷺ, even one verse.”.

The above hadith outlines the importance of conveying what the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) had conveyed. Thus, the competition required participants to not just share about the hadith from our Beloved, but to also link Quran ayats and other relevant hadiths to the main hadith that participants were sharing about. They were also expected to relate it to real-life examples and an incident from Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w)’s life as well.
The audience were truly in for a morning of remembrance of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w)’s words and advice.

In total, 9 finalists were featured and indeed it was a tough competition amongst them.

There were also 2 game segments, “Piece the Hadith” & “The Sahabahs Challenge”. The games aimed to quiz the audience knowledge on Hadiths and the Sahabahs that narrated them.

Do you know who are the “four” that Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) has told to learn the Quran from? Think about it and find out!

Finally, the judges gave their valuable feedback to affirm the participants and also to improve their craft of public speaking and sharing the words of our Beloved (s.a.w.) in the future.

Thereafter, was the prize presentation ceremony and Hazrath’s sharing to close off the event.

Alhamdulillah, indeed we hope both the participants and the audience had an enriching journey of learning about our Beloved (s.a.w) words and its importance of applying them in our daily lives.

Following in the footsteps of our Beloved truly requires effort, consistency and most importantly the love of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) himself. In sha Allah, may we strive to apply our Beloved’s sunnah in our everyday live and grow the love our Beloved in our hearts with utmost sincerity!
