Together We Shine Annual Day 2022 @Masjid An-Nahdhah

On the 13th of November 2022, our Madrasah celebrated our Annual Day, “Together We Shine 2022” at Masjid An Nahdhah.

On this special day, our young achiever’s families were invited to witness the ‘shining’ moments of their children’s milestones and achievements. All our participants and guests were dressed up in their beautiful festive clothes. It was a day of joy and excitement indeed.

Distinguished guests, Haji Yacob Ahmad, North District Mosque Superintendent & Masjid An-Nahdhah Chairman, An-Nahdhah Mosque Management Members, and Ustaz Ali graced our event.

Haji Yacob delivered his welcome speech to the Jema’ah. He shared about the importance of Islamic learning and cultivating the love for learning from young. He also thanked parents for their efforts in bringing their families together into the mosque every week. Alhamdulilah, in total, we had 146 Quran Achievers  & Quran Memoisation prizes and 114 Class Awards prize recipients this year. Tabarakallah! To start off our Prize giving ceremony, our Hifz boys kickstarted with a harmonious and beautiful Selawat Ya Adnani.

For the Preschool Prize Giving Ceremony, we recognized our young children who had to memorise some Surahs from the Quran, displayed good progress throughout the year, displayed good character, and shown excellence in their overall Islamic learning.

For the Quran Awards Category, the Awards ranged from memorizing 5,10,15,20 Surahs, Yaseen, 1 Juz & 2 Juz of the Quran. Additionally, we also recognized children who had achieved the Quran at this young tender age. Last but not least, we also recognized children in other areas too.

First, the ‘Shining Progress Award’, where children who showed great progress this year were recognized. Second, children who displayed ‘Shining Characters’ such as ‘Most Helpful’, ‘Most Polite’, ‘Most Caring’, ‘Most Cheerful’. Third, the ‘Shining Star’, who had displayed excellence in their overall Islamic learning. Alhamdulilah! All thanks and praises to Allah S.W.T. for guiding these children! Last but not least, our Nursery children performed a beautiful Nasheed titled “Bismillah”.They were dressed up as ‘Butterflies’ and moved along to the Nasheed very well.

Following the Preschool Nasheed, our Primary schoolers segment continued where the respective level emcees took over to showcase the little achievers starting with memorization prizes which varied from students achieving 15 Surahs to 3 Juz medals/ trophies. Masha Allah, then the little ones walked away with class awards – Shining Diligence, Shining Progress, Shining Commitment, Shining leader & Shining Contributor.

A special segment where our junior Mualimah kudos were awarded prizes too. Masha Allah, In this little age, the students were able to express themselves and explore more into knowledge of arabic. As each parent and awardee received their prize on stage, we would see how both students and parents were grateful and filled with joy to share the moment. Indeed, success is from Allah (SWT).

وَمَا تَوْفِيقِىٓ إِلَّا بِٱللَّهِ
My success comes only through Allah.
(Surah Hud: Ayah 88)

As Asar azaan gave, we break off for prayers and had tea break which alhamdulilah, parents from various levels kindly sponsored and shared during the event. Even the students got to enjoy the variety tea break with their peers and ustazahs after prayers.

Thereafter the Upper Primary Girls to Tertiary Girls award segment, emcees took over to present their shining stars from their level and embarked on an exciting game. The game segment called “4 Clues 1 Word” in which the audience had to guess prophets and companions of the prophet based on 4 clues that were given, relating to their qualities and incidents. This game was conducted in a table discussion format where parents were encouraged to discuss with each other to come up with an answer.

Eventually, we ended off with the prize winners of Rabiul Awwal competition 2022 which was held early this year with 3 different competitions for various age groups. During Annual Day, the top 3 prize recipients from each category were awarded prizes. Alhamdulilah, such competitions made kids explore their ability to shine and learn more about our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw).

Next up, the Parents’ Class award recipients received their certifications from their loved ones. Which indeed shows us that learning does not stop young. Last but not the least, the Boys level conducted their award ceremony. Alongside, the event held up a Wall Of Fame to recognize those achievers who have completed 2 Juz and Above as indeed it takes an individual to be motivated in order to complete memorizing their surahs. Plus support and encouragement from their loved one too.

يَرْفَعِ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنْكُمْ وَالَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ دَرَجَاتٍ

Allah will raise in rank those of you who have faith and those who have been given knowledge.

(Sūrat al-Mujādilah, No 58, Āyat 11)

Truly, that day was one that had recognized all of our students and ustazah’s consistent efforts throughout the entire year. We are also thankful to the parents who constantly supported their children’s journey in the madrasah. Alhamdulillah, we are proud of our children’s achievements and we hope they will achieve more awards in their future, Ameen. May Allah (swt) guide our little ones to the right paths.
