Hifz Competition 2023

Alhamdulillah!
Guess what? The long-awaited Hifz Competition has finally made a comeback this year! After all these years of anticipation, it was time to let our students showcase their amazing memorisation skills once again. Hifz Competition 2023 was held on the 10th of September, Sunday from 2pm to 6.30pm at Masjid An-Nahdhah Level 3, MPH.
Participants were given the choice to choose the category they felt most confident with. Category A represented the 30th Juz while Category B encompassed both 29th and 30th Juz. Lastly, Category C centred around Surah Al-Baqarah.
After choosing their categories, participants eagerly prepared themselves for the auditions, which were scheduled on the 16th & 23rd July. It was a time filled with anticipation and determination as they worked hard for the auditions, to make it to the finals round.
In this remarkable Hifz Competition, the participants were assessed upon four remarkable components: pronunciation, accuracy, tajweed and tarannum. Each of the elements, indeed, contributes to the beauty and perfection of their recitation.
The participants put in effort during the auditions and gave it their all. Their dedication and hard work truly paid off. It was truly inspiring to witness how some of them emerged as finalists. Alhamdulillah!
The auditions round was a valuable opportunity for the participants to experience what it’s like to be in the finals – with the time limit of 30 seconds and peers to compete with.
Alhamdulillah, the day of the Finals had arrived!
Parents were invited to be a part of this special event and see firsthand how their child’s dedication and hard work have paid off.
The event kicked off with a beautiful Nasheed performance by our beloved Preschoolers, titled “Why I Love the Quran?”
Our participants showed great dedication during the finals round. They came well-prepared and were divided into separate panels for each category, ensuring that there will be a deserving winner from each panel in the category.
Alhamdulillah, even in the most challenging situations, where time is limited and there’s healthy competition, participants rose to the occasion and gave their absolute best. Their determination and willingness to go beyond their limits was truly inspiring.
Judges selected the winners from the finalists who competed in the finals. The event came to an end with a prize giving ceremony, where parents were invited on stage to give the prizes to their children. ❤️
