Hari Raya Hamper Distribution @ Nee Soon

Alhamdulillah, in the blessed month of Ramadan this year, our IMSSA volunteers were heavily involved in many community activities and one of them was the Hari Raya Hamper Packing project. To spread the joy of Hari Raya Puasa to the needy residents residing in the Nee Soon GRC, we provided hampers containing festive snacks and goodies for the residents to enjoy together with their families.
Over 3 days, our IMSSA volunteers gathered at Yishun Vine Park Residents’ Network to pack a total of 125 hampers. Despite fasting, they managed to persevere with their relentless desire and passion for serving their community. From ordering, arranging the items to taping, wrapping and transporting, it was not easy but definitely worth the time and effort!
In the last week of Ramadan, we went on to distribute the hampers to the residents in the Nee Soon GRC constituencies – Chong Pang, Nee Soon East, Nee Soon Central, Nee Soon South and Nee Soon Link. Together with Advisor Mr Louis Ng, Minister K Shanmugam and Assoc Prof. Faishal Ibrahim, we visited the needy residents and presented the hampers to them at their doorsteps. Having to see families and children receive the hampers with big smiles on their faces gave us immense pleasure and satisfaction.

This year’s hamper packing and distribution was indeed a memorable one. We are grateful to Allah (S.W.T) for giving us this opportunity once again after 2 years. May He accept our good deeds and give us the strength to serve the community, consistently. We hope to reach out to more people in the future, Inshaa Allah!
