Our Little Qaris & Qari’ahs Challenge

Assalamualaikum w.r.b!
Alhamdullilah, the long awaited Our Little Qari & Qari’ahs challenge 2023 took place on the 22nd of October! With this being the first year for this challenge, we are very ecstatic that this event has reached its goal of getting the Primary 1 children to grow closer to the Quran & be confident in their recitation.
Few weeks before the actual event, our children had started their weekday zoom sessions and Saturday face to face sessions. With their respective trainers, they had worked very hard to improve their fluency and tune. Moreover, the practice sessions served as a time for them to deepen their bond with their friends and class ustazahs.
Finally, the day had arrived! Children started coming in at 12pm to prepare themselves for the nasheed & recital session. Alhamdullilah, with Allah (swt)’s help, the event was a success! Children and parents were very engaged throughout the event.
The challenge consisted of 2 categories; the first category was the recital round where participants read a surah of their choice and in their preferred tune. The second category was where the participants were posed with a challenge to follow the tune of a Qari’ah assigned to them on the spot. Everyone had the opportunity to be part of the competition in one round or the other. The judges, likewise the audience, were amazed by the children’s hidden talents.

We are especially thankful to the judges for setting aside time to attend and give their valuable feedback to the students! The team is truly grateful for everyone’s energy, determination, and helping hands in making the event a success !! ✨
Inshaa Allah, we hope that this initiative will serve as a stepping stone for more opportunities for the children to develop love towards Allah (swt) & the Quran.
